The role is full time and would suit an experienced (2yrs+) or a new grad with a passion for small animals. Full and part-time colleagues would be considered.
We are a mixed practice with eight branches in the Morpeth area treating small and large animals including equine and farm plus exotics.
Our main animal hospital is a new purpose built site and includes state-of-the-art facilities with four operating theatres, a dental suite, fully-equipped diagnostic laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy facilities. There are separate wards for dogs, cats, birds, small mammals and exotics, a physio and hydrotherapy suite, and six consulting rooms.
The practice employs more than 80 staff, including 18 vets (including certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and exotics), 16 qualified veterinary nurses, 7 trainee nurses, 8 nursing auxiliaries, hydrotherapists and administration/support help. External specialists in ophthalmology, internal medicine and ultrasonography also work from the hospital on a regular basis.
The Role:
This is an extremely busy practice. The ideal candidate will need to be level headed and able to cope working in a fast-paced environment but with the support of a superb, experienced nursing team. The practice aims to provide a gold-standard service wherever possible. A willingness to follow-up cases and a passion for thorough diagnostics and investigations would be an asset.
The post would suit either a new/recent graduate or more experienced colleagues. The current team is an extremely happy and welcoming working unit. Being a team player with good communication and customer care skills both internal and external are key.
